There is fear in Thurston County, Washington, that a serial cat killer may be at work once again. As reported by King 5 News, police responded to the report of a dead cat in Lacey just over a week ago – there was a reward flier about the 2018 serial cat killings attached to the deceased feline’s body.
The cat discovered on the Sunday before last was found along a fence near a storm pond at the intersection of Rockcress and Milbanke Drive – because of the flier with the cat’s body, the authorities are investigating to see if this death is tied to the 13 cats who were killed in 2018.
The cats killed last year had been mutilated and put out on display in public areas – the gruesome killing spree prompted area residents to form citizen patrols in the area, and pet owners were advised to keep their cats indoors.
A reward of over $50,000 is being offered for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of whoever is behind the cat killings. Anyone with information is asked to call Thurston County Animal Services at (360) 352-2510.
