A coach was fired on Tuesday from Ohio’s Fostoria school district after accusations that he was “sexting” teenage students. After a search warrant was executed at 28-year-old Nelson Cousin’s home, the track and basketball coach faced even more backlash.
According to the Toledo Blade, investigators found the body of a rotting dog inside of Cousin’s house – the dog had been left to decompose in the bedroom of Cousin’s children. The Daily Mail reported that Cousin’s three boys were sleeping on a urine-soaked couch because the dead dog was in their bedroom.
According to multiple reports, the house was in such a state of “deterioration” that some officers became nauseous during the search and had to leave. The dead dog’s body had bug bombs on it to keep the flies away.
The Blade reported that at least three students were involved in the inappropriate texts – Cousin is accused of sending (and requesting) nude photos from the teenagers.
Investigators who searched Cousin’s home also found a young pit bull named “Scarlett.” The puppy was removed from the house and has since been adopted.
Cousin is facing multiple charges – he has pleaded not guilty to all of them.
