Thrown away like trash and found on side of the road, just one more chance for tiny senior

In Port Washington, New York, an aged Shih Tzu has suffered a life of misery and neglect, yet he’s still a gentle soul – preferring a short walk and a long nap to fill up his days.Sebastian the Shih Tzu

“We found him on the side of a busy road in our town, immobile. The police officer thought Sebastian was a piece of trash at first, until he got closer and realized he was a dog. He was severely matted and had horrible skin, dry eyes etc…,” noted the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter on their Facebook page.

Dubbed Sebastian and estimated to be between 10 and 12-years-old, the gentle little guy has since been surrendered by his former owners who were charged with animal cruelty. Since then Sebastian has been cleaned up, medically treated and doing better. In his remaining years, Sebastian wants a comfortable bed, good food, a gentle scratch and some love. After a lifetime of neglect, it is hoped someone can give him the charmed life he so deserves.

A Facebook page for this little guy can be found here.  For more information please call the shelter (516-869-6311)  about Sebastian, the adoption process at the shelter, and to confirm availability.
