A Wyoming man faces a felony animal cruelty charge for allegedly beating a puppy to death – the man, identified as 27-year-old Lee Thomas Jackson of Cody, explained that the beating followed the puppy chewing on one of his PS3 game controllers, reported Wednesday’s Cody Enterprise.
Jackson was arrested on November 4 after his girlfriend, Necia Kacmar, reached out to the authorities to report the puppy’s death. The details leading up to the cruel incident are in the affidavit, which reads:
“Necia stated she and Lee were getting ready to go somewhere and she was in the shower and heard their 17-week-old puppy Luna yelping. Necia said she asked Lee what happened and he told her that he beat the puppy because it was chewing on his PS3 game controller.”
Jackson allegedly buried the puppy after she died – the puppy’s body was later retrieved by a police code enforcement officer and then sent to a veterinarian for a necropsy. The necropsy revealed that little Luna died from “massive” blunt force trauma. Based on the condition of Luna’s body, she was subjected to multiple kicks, or possibly stomped on.
Jackson was taken to the Park County Detention Center and is due in court on November 15.
