A Missouri man will spend nine years behind bars for stealing, and then repeatedly stabbing, a dog in 2018. As reported by KFVS 12 News, Andrew Nipper was sentenced on Sept. 3 after pleading guilty to multiple charges stemming from the May 2018 incident which claimed the life of a dog named Pepper.

As reported by the news agency, Nipper stole the dog from his ex girlfriend after she told him that she reported his stalking behavior to the authorities. The man, who was just 18 at the time, had posted a selfie to social media with the dog shortly before leaving the dog’s body on the owner’s apartment complex doorstep.

The authorities were able to locate items in Nipper’s home that matched the photo, and a timestamp on the “selfie” showed that it was taken minutes before the dog’s body was left on the owner’s doorstep.

The cruel incident resulted in multiple charges, including first-degree felony stalking, felony animal abuse and felony stealing an animal. Nipper’s sentences for the various charges will run consecutively for a total of nine years – he will serve his time at the Department of Corrections.

  1. Nine years is more than most get for some actions, but hardly enough in my opinion. In 9 years this “smiling” POS will be out to do the same to someone else!
