A family in Middletown, New Hampshire, arrived home on Thursday to find their puppy with multiple stab wounds. As reported by Fosters.com, someone had broken into the Dudley Drive home during the day and repeatedly stabbed the three-month-old Labrador retriever puppy, Jax.
Middleton Police Officer Mike McNeil expressed dismay to the news agency, “No idea why anyone would want to stab a puppy.”
Despite multiple stab wounds to Jax’s chest and abdomen, he is expected to recover – a fundraiser was started to help cover the surgery to repair the puppy’s injuries (click here to learn more).
The puppy’s owners have not commented on the situation and the police have not stated what items were taken from the home, reports NECN News. Anyone with information is asked to reach out to the Middleton police at 603-473-8548 or email [email protected].
