A more than 15-feet in size saltwater crocodile snatched a puppy playing on the beach with two of his canine pals and dragged one dog underwater. A video clip, captured by a bystander, showed the dogs playing along the beach line at a Cape York beach in northern Queensland on Friday.

The disturbing clip showed the croc sneaking up on the pair as they played on a sunny afternoon with each other; the dogs seemingly completely oblivious to the predator quickly approaching them at the Embley River at Napranum Beach.

The croc flung the puppy into the air before it ran back into the water as the larger dog ran for its life narrowly escaping the predator’s jaws too. It seemed as if the larger dog caught sight of the croc, but before he could warn his buddy, the huge man-eater had pounced upon the smaller pup. Three other dogs in the area were seen running towards the spot where the crocodile was spotted.

According to the Daily Mail, the dog’s owner Johnnina Savo, was heartbroken at the loss of her dog named Bear, but is warning parents to keep their children away from the beach.

And in case you have never heard about saltwater crocodiles, they can grow to nearly 20 feet and weigh in at a ton. They typically stay motionless and camouflaged and are often mistaken for part of the seascape landscaping; that is until they spot their prey and pounce. They are mainly found in coastal regions around Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland.

  1. Just stupid because they know these crocs are there but yet they take their dogs down by the water and feed them to the crocs!
