In Oklahoma City, a 13-foot long python had been slithering around for at least five months where it had been eating cats to survive.

The mouth on that thing is the size of your foot and when it opens up you’re going to be able to fit something pretty large in there.”

Trevor Bounds of Red Beard Wildlife Control

According to Insider, in addition to cats it had also been eating possums and foot-long rats. The snake has been estimated to have doubled in size with all the smaller animals it has consumed. Residents have been told to keep watch and keep their pets indoors. It is suspected the snake had been a pet that either got loose or the owner abandoned it. The snake can also be dangerous to small children, and if not addressed snakes like this can grow up to 24 feet in length.

“That home is pretty long and so getting two people in there in like a foot-and-a-half crawlspace to fight a 13-foot snake is just impossible.

that’s when we started seeing a bunch of carcasses of large animals.

…I can imagine that each one of those cats put up a nasty fight. So, when it’s been attacked that many times and to that extent, the nice non-aggressive pet snake we once knew is no more. This thing is dangerous now.

Trevor Bounds

The snake is an albino Reticulated Python, which is one of the world’s larges species of snakes. It has apparently been living under the foundation of one particular mobile home. The home has been rigged with trapping equipment and cameras; Bounds is confident he’ll be able to catch the snake soon.

  1. OMG: I would be so concerned about my toddler grandson being attacked by this snake. Also my dogs (all under 10 pounds)…….. I hope this dangerous snake is caught soon before anyone else is killed (people or small animals are highly at risk)……..
