Turkey – A dog is being blamed for the death of a hunter in Turkey. As reported by the New York Post, the Thanksgiving weekend accident happened when 32-year-old Ozgur Gevrekoglu had wrapped up a day of hunting with friends and was loading his dog into his vehicle. The dog reportedly stepped on the still-loaded firearm and it discharged, at close range, into Gevrekoglu.
The man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Some Turkish media outlets are reporting that the man was actually murdered and the killing was blamed on Gevrekoghu’s dog; no evidence of foul play has been found.
The man’s body will undergo an autopsy.
