Whitman, County, Washington – A woman who fell while horseback riding was rescued thanks to the horse that she fell from. On July 28, Whitman County Sheriff’s Deputies and Whitman County Fire District 12 Volunteers responded to a farm after getting a report that a horse had come back to the barn without its rider.

Rescuers began searching the area for the rider and it was the woman’s horse who led them to her location in tall canola; the woman was unconscious and had to be air-lifted to a hospital in Lewiston, Idaho.

No word on the woman’s current condition.
