A “giant sweetheart” is waiting to be loved at a busy California animal control agency. The 96-pound German shepherd mix, named Shakira, has been at the Los Angeles County Animal Control (Baldwin Park) facility for weeks, and she is being overlooked.
On Friday, her advocate provided some insight to Shakira’s personality, writing:
She’s a giant sweetheart. Out in the play yard with the other dogs, she was relaxed and tolerant of the others. She just sat down in the corner of the yard and kept to herself. She would solicit attention from handlers. Calm dogs required.
Shakira wants to be loved, but she is stuck inside of a lonely kennel run instead.
