As the snow fell onto the cold pavement in Detroit, Michigan, a chained dog curled into a ball, trying her best to stay warm with no protection from the elements. The dog, since dubbed Speckles, had been chained to a stop sign and left alone in the storm – if not for a kindly passerby, she may have frozen to death.
On March 1, the Detroit Pit Crew notified Facebook followers about the dog’s rescue:
JUST RESCUED!! Apparently someone very ignorant tied this dog to a pole in the middle of the snowstorm in Detroit. Thankfully some kind gentlemen driving by saw him and called us for help. He is now safe and sound and on board with Detroit Pit Crew.
As is turned out, an exam revealed that “he” was actually a “she,” and judging by her photos, Speckles is grateful to the people who saved her from the cold.
According to WXYZ News, no form of identification was found on the young dog – she will be held for seven days before being made available for adoption.

Did you know that if you want to get updates from a Facebook page, you have to do more than just “like” it? To get recent postings in your Facebook feed, you must also hover your mouse over the word “following” and then click “see first” from the drop-down menu. You may want to check back with your favorite pages on occasion because Facebook often changes your settings, no longer having your favorites among those to “see first.”
