In Niobraba, Nebraska, a woman literally followed the rule of responsibly caring for your pets after heeding the warning; if it’s too cold for you outside, then it’s too cold for your pets and bring them indoors.

According to KtivNews, horse owner Kelly Rowley did just that. On Saturday, when temperatures plunged dangerously below zero, she decided it was indeed too cold for her horses outdoors. Yes, that’s correct; she brought them indoors.

At first the horses were frightened, but when they felt the warmth of the home, they did seem quite grateful.

On one of the social media popular horse forums, there were mixed reactions. Many owners put the heaviest blankets on their horses and kept them in the barn. Others had heaters in their barns, and they admitted the horses seemed quite content to stand near the warm vents.

i’ve had baby chicks and baby goats inside. I’m afraid a horse inside would be the end of my married life.

Would you bring your horse into the house if the weather was bone chilling like it has been this month?

  1. My husband KNOWS that I would bring our horses into our home in a heartbeat if the weather outside was too cold for them!!! lol They are doing ok in their paddocks right now though.

I feel horrible for the animals left outside who don’t do well in freezing temperatures……. I would be heartbroken if I had any missing dogs or cats……..
