A dog is missing after his owner, and his owner’s friend were murdered in Metairie, Louisiana. The Humane Society of Louisiana has reached out to the public for assistance finding the missing eight-year-old pit bull terrier whose name is Dro.

On February 14, a social media post was made on Dro’s behalf:

Breaking news from the Humane Society of Louisiana: We need your help in locating Dro, a beautiful 8-year-old 110 lb American pit bull terrier, whose owner, Jonathan Pizzuto, was shot and killed in his home on January 17th on Rosa Ave, in Metairie. Also shot and killed was Jonathan’s friend, William Mitchell.

The man accused of the double murder is identified as Cody LaBranche; he was arrested last week. An investigation indicates that Dro was taken by LaBranche and then abandoned:

During the course of the investigation, detectives also discovered that after shooting Jonathan, Cody took Jonathan’s dog, Dro, and allegedly dumped him on Tanner Street in Hazelhurst, Mississippi.

Description of Dro

Dro is dark chocolate, with a white blaze on his chest and neck and pointed ears.

A $500 reward is being offered by the family for Dro’s safe return. Messages about Dro’s possible location can be sent to the animal welfare agency on Facebook. Find the Humane Society of Louisiana here.
