Port Washington man accused of biting Shih Tzu’s eye out

In Port Washington, New York, a 20-year-old man has been accused of biting the eye out of the family’s Shih Tzu early last month. On Saturday, the Nassau Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals posted a press release detailing the arrest of Aaron Kluger.

Kluger has been charged with torturing and injuring an animal – a Class A misdemeanor. On November 6, the three-year-old Shih Tzu, named Chloe had been rushed to an animal hospital with a serious eye injury. After examining the dog, the veterinarian determined the dog’s right eye had been bitten. A report was made to the Nassau County SPCA.

An investigation followed, and Nassau County SPCA detectives arrested the suspect and charged him with the crime. Kluger is scheduled to appear in the First District Court in Hempstead on December 27.
Chloe underwent surgery to reattach her eye, and at this time veterinarians are optimistic her eye will be saved. There has been no motive for the disturbing situation made public at this time.
