UPDATE: Abandoned Chow barely able to see bounded out from bushes when help arrived

Spread the love

In South Los Angeles, in the diverse neighborhood of Watts, an abandoned Chow Chow now named Kiran, was discovered hiding in the bushes. She had been there at least one long night; she crawled around slowly, barely able to see and walk; trying so hard just to survive.

A message asking for help alerted Suzette Hall, founder of the nonprofit animal rescue, Logan’s Legacy 29. She arrived to find the five-year-old dog so willing to be rescued. Kiran bounded out of her hiding place from under the bushes – just about jumping into her rescuer’s arms. Suzette immediately fell in love.

Kiran suffered silently from entropion, a condition where her eyelids roll inward, causing her eyelashes and fur to rub against the cornea, leading to intense pain, tearing, infections and potential blindness, had plagued her for years with no relief.

Under the rescue’s care, Kiran was able to receive the surgery she needed. She captured the hearts of everyone who met her; her sweetness made for lots of smiles. Kiran doesn’t bark, she never complains; she just loves to cuddle. She gets along with every dog and every human she meets.

She’s simply a gentle little soul searching for love.

And now, just one month after she was rescued by Suzette, check out Kiran’s progress. Besides the successful treatment for her painful eyes, medications have also successfully improved her arthritis, and now she gets a new lease on life.

This… this is why we keep going. This is what brings hope. Seeing them go from so much pain… to playing, to smiling, to living. She is finally getting to feel what it’s like to just be a dog.

And now she’s ready for her forever home.

I can’t wait for the day that someone sees her and says, “that’s my girl.”
