So skinny: No one has loved Nola for a long time but all that has changed

At the Stray Rescue of St. Louis, the nonprofit organization rescues the abandoned, beaten, bred, fought, injured, terrified, defeated and betrayed. When these precious lives arrive, the staff instantly falls in love with each and everyone; they all are promised the second chance they deserve.

Tuesday, February 17 was no different. Local animal control officers contacted Stray Rescue asking for help. Nola, a large breed brindle had been captured scavenging the streets in a local neighborhood trying to fend for herself. No one knows how long she had been abandoned or if she had been badly neglected, but she needed more help than the shelter could provide.

And so she arrived, and it was quite obvious she had not been loved for a long time.

Nola is scared, but she will soon know she is safe. She currently weighs 64 pounds, and she is expected to be a very big girl once she is back to a healthy weight.

If you know anything about Nola, please contact the rescue at 314.771.6121.

Updates to follow on this beautiful brindle. The shelter is located in downtown St. Louis at 2320 Pine Street in St. Louis, MO 63103
