Senior dog in and out of shelter in foster care for years and hearts break again with her return

At the Grand Stand Humane Society in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Juliet is back at the shelter, and hearts are breaking for her. The senior pup has been in and out of the shelter for nearly two years as she patiently waits for someone to choose her.

Juliet had recently been in a foster home and enjoyed soft beds and quiet days, but that was soon to end. The shelter posted her story on social media hoping to help her find her forever home, so she would not have to return to the shelter, but not one application arrived.

On Saturday, Juliet’s foster mom had no choice but to bring her back to the shelter, and here she is – back in her kennel crate instead of being on the comfortable sofa watching television with the humans she so enjoyed spending time.

Juliet is feeling the loneliness, and she just wants to be loved in her golden years.

According to shelter notes, Juliet had been found as a stray in poor condition. She had been on her own for awhile, as her physical examination revealed she had not only been emaciated when she arrived, but she also tested positive for heartworm disease.

Juliet went through the treatments, but remained gentle, well behaved, quiet and sweet.

She is craving lots of love and attention from her people so being the only pet in her home will allow her to thrive and feel secure. Juliet loves her stuffy toys and is house trained and crate trained!

If you are interested in fostering or adopting Juliet, please submit an adoption application via the website grandstrandhumanesociety.com or email adoptions counselor at [email protected].

Pease don’t give up on Juliet. Share her beautiful photos and her story; sharing saves lives.
