A $5,000 reward has been offered by Desmond’s Army Animal Law Advocates for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person(s) responsible for the clear abuse, neglect and abandonment of a tiny dog found near a Home Depot store in East Haven, Connecticut on Tuesday.

Two children discovered the dog, who had a severely matted coat tightly and painfully pressing against his irritated skin. Some areas of matting protruded through his skin into the muscle and bone on his one leg. Many parts of his tiny body had open and infected wounds.

It is expected one leg will need to be amputated. It is not known how long the dog had been suffering, but neglect like this doesn’t happen overnight.
They will keep him hospitalized until his infection is controlled and his foot can be amputated
Paddy, as he is now named, is under the care of the East Haven Animal Shelter, East Haven CT and Brandford Vet Hospital.

Anyone with information on where this dog came from or who owns him, call the shelter at (203) 468-3249. The shelter and hospital are also in need of donations to assist with his medical care.
Donations can be sent to the East Haven Animal Shelter, 183 Commerce St., East Haven, CT 06512, or call the Branford Veterinary Hospital at 203-488-3949 and ask to make a donation towards the cost of his medical care.
