One week ago, a four-month-old puppy named Stack was trapped on the top of a chimney of an abandoned house in Detroit. With the help of the Detroit Fire Department and the Michigan Humane, Stack is safe.

Here’s what happened. A skinny puppy had been spotted looking out over a chimney by a neighbor at an abandoned house. The crumbling foundation of the house was deemed dangerous, and therefore rescuers could not climb the structure to safely capture the frightened little pooch staring down at athe crowd eager to help.

A viral Video showed the fire crews using their fire truck’s ladder to reach the puppy inside the chimney.

This little guy was discovered at the very top of a chimney in an abandoned home. Yes, the top. A neighbor made the call, and with help from the @detroitfiredepartment, he was safely brought down and into our care.”

The puppy appeared exhausted as fire crews handed him off after the rescue. It had been the fire department who dubbed the puppy “Stack.”

Check out the video:

The puppy is currently under the care of Michigan Humane gaining weight and strength. It is expected he will be available for adoption soon. Check here to follow Stack’s recovery.
