In West Michigan, a huge 140-pound Great Dane is finally home, and there’s no doubt he’s one happy pooch. The dog, named Zeus had been at the Michigan Animal Rescue League (MARL) for a month and was known to be very friendly with both humans and other dogs.
Before he was rescued, he had been relegated to the outdoors, and brrrrr…. it’s cold in the winter in Michigan. What a difference and how much happier Zeus had been enjoying the indoors with lots of new friends.

Zeus’ exceptionally lovely disposition led him to giving hugs. When standing up on his hind feet, it wasn’t unusual for Zeus to be even taller than some of the staff and volunteers at the rescue organization. He loved to hug, he loved to lean, and he just wanted to be close and loved.
His new family had met with him several times before deciding if the adoption would be a good match, but ultimately Zeus’ loveable nature and his passion for being the “best” has turned out to be a wonderful fit.

As Zeus was preparing to leave the shelter, he had to stop and hug his human friends goodbye. How could anyone not love this big boy?
Check out the video below as Zeus leaves with his new mom … and hang in there for the “ten minutes later” when Zeus had a serious case of the zoomies in his new living room. There’s not a doubt in anyone’s mind that Zeus is happy to be home!
Welcome home Zeus. Live a long and happy life.
