At Miami-Dade Animal Services, advocates have joined together to help a frightened five-month-old German shepherd puppy facing euthanasia, find a rescue organization or a patient, experienced adopter to help, before it’s too late.
She was described as ‘shutting down’ due to fear and was scheduled for euthanasia before a rescue or adopter could be secured.
This is what we know about her:
Name: SAMMY (A2754276)
Gender: Female
Breed: German Shepherd Dog
Animal type: Dog
Age: 5 months old
Brought to the shelter: 2026.01.13
Located at: Miami-Dade Animal Services

It’s very difficult to see this puppy shutting down and trying to hide in the corner of her kennel cage. Because of serious overcrowding and lack of staff, even puppies can easily be “timed out.” Please share Sammy’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.
