In Fremont, California, five abandoned dogs in “unkempt” condition were found wandering throughout the Fremont area. All of the dogs appeared to be the similar breed of ShihTzus mixes. They are approximately four years of age.

Within the past 72 hours, Animal Services found the dogs at multiple locations throughout Fremont. None of the dogs had any identification, and it is believed the same owner may have abandoned the dogs in different locations.

Two dogs were found near Quarry Lakes; one of the dogs had been hiding under a vehicle on North Grimmer, and two were recovered at Irvington Park. One dog is still missing, and every effort is being made to rescue the pooch.

Authorities are seeking information regarding the person(s) involved who may be associated with these dogs. The animals are currently safe and are receiving appropriate care and medical attention.

The dogs are currently in the care of Tri-City Animal Shelter.

Animal Services can be contacted at 510-790-6635 or [email protected] .
