In Livonia, Michigan, a truck driver shot a family dog on Easter Sunday because he was “scared.” The dog, named Daisy is now missing. The dog was shot by a Walmart delivery driver.
Adam Forma, Daisy’s owner, has been searching for his dog all week. The family hired a drone to help in the search, but there have been no reports of seeing her. The family lives in the middle of a residential neighborhood in a subdivision off Farmington Road and have a hard time believing the driver shot their dog.
The driver had been delivering a forgotten package of marshmallow Peeps from Walmart while the family was gone.
No one knows how the Australian shepherd got out of the house, and neither one of the family dogs knew how to open the two main doors to the unlocked home. The driver, who is a CPL holder, stayed at the home and told police he was “scared” of the dog and fired his gun. The driver worked for the Spark delivery app, and there are no restrictions for any driver to legally carry concealed weapons.
The family doesn’t think the driver should get away with shooting their dog, but their first priority is finding Daisy.
Daisy’s bonded companion Lucy, who is deaf, is left sitting and waiting. All she wants is Daisy back by her side.
According to a statement issued by Walmart however, the driver has since been removed from their delivery staff:
displaying a firearm during a delivery violates the platform’s Terms of Use, and the driver has been removed from the platform.
We want every customer using our app to have a positive experience and this incident is disturbing.
