Thanks to the LaGrange Fire Department in Georgia, a deeply loved canine family member was rescued from a drywell after having spent six long days trapped underground.

It had been right after Christmas on December 27 when the family’s black Labrador retriever named Xena had disappeared. She had been wearing a pink collar, and a reward was being offered for her safe return. After searching the area for days, tacking up posters and calling the local animal shelters and rescues, the family still refused to give up.
But where did she go?
And then it had been on January 2 -six days after she disappeared, when firefighters pitched in to save Xena. Yes, Xena was located, but she had fallen into a drywell under a neighboring home:
Today, C-Shift got one of the best calls there is, rescuing Xena, who survived six days trapped in a dry well under a house!
With a little teamwork and a lot of care, she was safely pulled out and reunited with her family.
With the help of LaGrange Fire Department, the local police department, kind neighbors and friends that Xena was rescued!

Many thanks to all who helped spread the word. After six days in a well, Xena was thirsty and hungry, but otherwise she was healthy.

What a lucky pooch. Happy New Year Xena.
