In Chester, Pennsylvania, the community is supporting a family dog named Diamond who had been critically injured during a violent home altercation, which unfortunately left three people dead. The suspect was also killed.

Diamond was rushed to the Brandywine Valley SPCA where she was reported to have been shot in the face. She remains hospitalized at an emergency veterinary partner and has been undergoing extensive diagnostics and evaluation in order to determine the extent of her injuries.
Veterinarians have been able to stabilize Diamond’s condition, who has without a doubt shown so much resilience and the will to survive, after having undergone such a terrible trauma. She is scheduled to undergo complex and delicate surgeries which will include removing one eye and removing bullet fragments in her head and neck.
For now, she remains stable and alert, showing us just how tough her fighting spirit is. We will be transitioning her into the care of a specialized foster who can ensure she continues to get around the clock care she needs. While Diamond is not out of the woods, we are doing everything in our power for her…
Diamond is currently medicated for pain management and is alert, able to walk and remains very affectionate. She’s reported to be a very sweet dog who loves to be petted and loved.
Diamond will remain with her specialized foster until she is strong enough for surgery.
She faces a long recovery ahead, and the community continues to support her.
The cost of Diamond’s treatment is expected to be extremely costly, and the Brandywine Valley SPCA is asking for donations of any size to help save her life.
