Five puppies are alive today because Good Samaritans stopped to help. A laundry basket sat on the side of a rarely traveled dirt road in South Texas. In it were five tiny puppies; they had no food, no water and no shade.

It had been on Tuesday morning when a South Texas fire chief and his wife had been riding their bicycles near the Donna Reservoir, located just north of the Rio Grande. The couple stopped, and had they not taken that route, the puppies would not have survived the day.

The couple called the fire department who quickly arrived to help. The puppies were taken to the station for safety. Fortunately, one of the staff messaged Dallas Dog – Rescue.Rehab.Reform for help. A volunteer rescuer drove to the station to pick the puppies up and bring them to the rescue organization.
This is dumping. This is abandonment. this is why rescues never get a break.
Donations are desperately needed to cover the expenses for the puppies.

Please reach out and help, share or donate. No doubt there is such heartless animal cruelty, but we gather here to help, and we know there are far more angels ready to help those who have no voices.
This is a developing story. Updates to follow.
