A couple on an afternoon canoe ride on the River Dee in Aberdeen, Scotland became heroes to a senior, blind dog who wandered away from her home and couldn’t find her way back. What could have been a heartbreaking tragedy for the aged dog and her family who were desperately trying to find her, turned out to be a heartwarming reunion.
According to Nicole’s TikTok account, the couple had been out with their own dog when they spotted the dog alone on the side of the river and paddled over for a closer look. There was no one in sight, and when Nicole realized the dog was also blind, knew she had to do something to help. The couple helped the dog into their canoe, and returned to the safety of the shore.
The 15-year-old dog had been missing for more than a week, but luckily she was discovered and reunited with her owner. The owners couldn’t believe their dog had survived the week by herself.
