The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) discovered a woman trying to smuggle two turtles in her bra out of Miami International Airport in April. The really bizarre and cruel incident was reported in a July 24 TSA LinkedIn post.

The TSA’s advanced imaging alerted officers to something hidden in the woman’s chest area. She was then taken aside for a private screening. And then the “shell shock.” Two live turtles were discovered in her bra.
Agencies from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection were called in to assist. One of the turtles stuffed into the woman’s bra did not survive; the other turtle has been turned over to the Florida Department of Fish and Wildlife.
We want you to be able to travel with your pets, and you turtle-ly can, but please travel with them safely. You can start by reaching out to your airline for their rules concerning pets on board flights. As far as TSA screening goes, small pets are allowed through our checkpoint but must be removed from any carriers and carried through the checkpoint (notice we said “carried” and not “hidden underneath your clothing”).
It was not mentioned if the turtles were her pets or if the unidentified woman was smuggling them out of the country for illegal trade or worse.
