In Anaheim, California, an investigation is in progress after a woman was caught on video throwing a small dog over a fence of the University Vet Center.

As the dog was thrown over the fence, the dog “face-planted” which broke his fall. He is severely bruised, anemic, malnourished and covered in fleas. His nails are curled into the pads of his feet, and there’s little doubt this poor dog had not been living a heartbreaking life of abuse and neglect.

Late Wednesday night, the surveillance video, shared by the University Veterinary Center, showed the dog inside of a plastic bag tossed into the backyard of the clinic. It had been the following morning when the seriously injured dog was found by employees.
According to the pup’s veterinarians, the sustained mental trauma as well as physical harm.
The clinic issued a statement (only partial included here)
Due to the nature of the situation, Anaheim Police Department and Orange County Animal Care are now involved and he’s receiving around the clock care to ensure he is recovering from both his injuries and ongoing medical needs.
Orange County Animal Control sent their Animal Control Officer (ACO) to the office, and he patiently waited outside of our office THE WHOLE DAY while the clinic rendered life saving medical care to the dog. They have taken over his care and will be providing ongoing care for him.
The dog is expected to recover, although his condition is critical at this time.

As to the woman who was caught on video, the veterinarian office stated she came from the apartment building across the street. The suspect has spoken with the Anaheim Police, and her statement will be submitted to the district attorney’s office for charges.
