Two people arrested for alleged dumping of 8 newborn puppies in dumpster

In Sparta, Missouri, the Sparta Police Department have arrested two people for allegedly dumping a litter of newborn puppies into a dumpster last week.

At approximately 12:40 pm, our officers responded to Roller Park for an animal call. Upon arrival we sadly discovered EIGHT newborn puppies in a dumpster/ we are thankful for our local friends for the care they are providing to these innocent animals.

We need your help finding what awful person would dump this precious bundle!!

Travis Callagy and Heather Lynn are now under arrest for nine counts of Animal Abuse and eight counts of Animal Neglect. Investigators also took custody of two pitbull mix dogs out of the home to prevent further abuse.

The puppies are now being cared for by the Diamonds in the Ruff Rescue.

Below is the photo of the mother to the puppies who were found in the dumpster. The puppies are doing great with their fosters; waking up every few hours to be fed….however the mother dog is still missing. Freezing temperatures are happening now, and the mother dog needs veterinarian care.

Bella is described as:

Age: 7 years old

Weight: 50 pounds

Temperament: Friendly, but likely confused

Appearance: Black and tan coloring with a gray muzzle

Please do not approach the dog if you spot her. She’s likely very frightened. Contact the rescue organization or Sparta Missouri Police Department. Bella needs our help. Please share her plight.
