Meet the new little fighter named Tillie. The non-profit rescue organization, ThisIsHouston stepped up on Wednesday afternoon when the one-week-old puppy had been discovered in the Houston area tangled up in netting. No one knows how or why she was there, but she was found by herself with substantial cuts and bruises all over her tiny body.

The first stop for Tillie had been a rushed transport to Vergi 24/7 for treatment. She is currently receiving the care needed. Her wounds are being treated, and she is receiving intravenous medication and fluids as well as daily bandage changes.

She’s got the smallest bandages, poor sweet love. she doesn’t even know it yet but she’s so strong already.
Tillie is not able to suckle on her own, and is currently being fed by the hospital staff via tube feedings. She is expected to spend a few more days at the emergency hospital before being released to an experienced foster home.

Tillie’s latest update is indeed encouraging. She has been maintaining her temperature and blood sugar is within normal range. She is learning to suckle and is no longer in need of her feeding tube.
Today Tillie is going home with her foster parent who will continue daily bandage changes and lots of loving support.

In the meantime, Tillie is building up quite the cheering team on Instagram who are strongly rooting for her recovery; we all look forward to a chubby, healthy puppy soon.
