In Philadelphia, two puppies were abandoned and left in a cardboard box at ACCT Philly late last week. The two puppies were in critical condition, and were immediately given life saving care and treatment.

Surveillance and security cameras captured two women pulling up in a vehicle and carrying a box up to the front door. The puppies believed to be no more than three-months of age had necrotic wounds and were covered in maggots. They are believed to be shepherd mixes.

Animal rescue officers are hoping to find the two women who abandoned the puppies and question them. In addition, it is not known if there are other puppies who need emergency care
The puppies have been named Sika and Willy. Their condition has been improving. They have been receiving medicated baths, and their appetites have been improving – all good signs. They are now in the care of the Pennsylvania SPCA.

The PSPCA has an anonymous hotline to report animal abandonment and cruelty. Calls can be made to 866-601-7722 or [email protected]. It is illegal to abandon pets.

Meet these two cuties and consider a donation to help with their medical expenses.
