In Fort Lauderdale, Florida, an 11-week-old puppy was rescued on Friday after falling into a murky pool and nearly drowning behind a home on Vermont Ave.
According to the Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, the puppy was rushed to an emergency animal hospital for care, and the good news is that his future looks bright – a lot brighter than that pool he accidentally fell into.
Performing emergency life saving treatment, the fire department gave Leo administered oxygen and first aid, and then brought him to VEG ER for Pets.

Darling Merissaint had been dog sitting Leo for a friend when she realized the puppy had fallen into the pool. She immediately grabbed a stick and pulled him out, and noted he was having difficulty breathing. She called 911 and the firemen arrived quickly to give Leo oxygen before he was transported to the emergency veterinarian hospital.
Leo was very cold when he arrived at the hospital and was kept in intensive care for a few days. Since then he’s been acting like a normal playful puppy. His family has since surrendered him, and Leo is hoping to find a new family soon.
Earlier in the week, the same station rescued a German shepherd from a canal and reuniting her with her owners after she had been missing for seven years.
