Terrified puppies surrendered to busy shelter cling to each other for emotional support

At Harris County Pets in Texas, two eight-month-old puppies were surrendered by their owner as if their lives didn’t matter.

The reason for surrendering them: ‘too many’.

According to volunteers at the shelter at the time of their surrender, the owner was told there is no required hold time for owner surrendered dogs, and that the puppies could be euthanized immediately, but the owner didn’t care and walked away.

Rocky (#A640531, grey and weighing 35 pounds) and Coco (#A640532, black and white weighing 30.5 pounds) are both heartworm negative and just want to live.

Right now, they’re clinging to each other in a cold kennel, terrified as other dogs bark and some leave, but never to return.
