At the Fort Worth Animal Care & Control in Texas, a loyal dog and his best young friend had to say their goodbyes. It wasn’t because the child was going to camp or to school far away from home; it was because Nala’s family told personnel at the shelter they could no longer care for the dog and requested she be euthanized.
Of course, we may not know the full story of why Nala was surrendered, but one look at her face as she watches her family leave without her reveals her heartbreak.

A physical examination of Nala revealed a raw skin area on her neck from wearing a too tight collar and a growth on her lip. Nala is underweight and shakes her head frequently, indicating she likely is suffering from an ear infection.

According to volunteers, Nala is fearful in her kennel as she continues to wait for her family to return for her. She yearns for the child who held onto her so tightly just a few hours ago. She desperately wants to go home, but Nala has no idea she no longer has a home.

Please share Nala’s plight and help change this nightmare for her by finding her a foster home or getting her adopted. Be Nala’s hero and save her life.
