At the Pasadena Animal Shelter in Texas, Bitsy ended up at the shelter after someone threatened to shoot her if animal control didn’t arrive to remove her out of the property owner’s yard. Sadly, Bitsy hasn’t had much time to find a home; she is now on the “Urgent List” scheduled to be humanely euthanized on Tuesday, November 4.

Bitsy arrived at the shelter as a fearful young girl. After a few days of decompression, Bitsy started to relax. Unfortunately, she developed a nasty upper respiratory infection and has definitely lived through a lousy start to life.

Why anyone would want to shoot Bitsy just for exploring a new area is heartbreaking. According to the volunteers, Bitsy is perfect:
…she gave us the puppy eyes. She walked on a loose leash, went potty right away and sought our affection from us in the runs.
Bitsy loved butt rubs and gave lots of kisses. She sat still while she was dressed up in the silly looking outfits and knew her commands. She has just enough sparkle in her personality; she grabbed a squeaky toy out of the volunteer’s bag and began to play with it – something she had not done in quite awhile.

And when it was time for Bitsy to be put back in her kennel, it was emotionally difficult:

I hated putting her back; she’s such a good girl. A few dogs barked at her on the way in, and she paid them no mind.
If you’re local, the shelter will require you bring in your pets for a meet and greet.
