As we have so often heard, that size doesn’t matter, a six-pound Pomeranian didn’t hesitate to chase away a much bigger opponent from his home in Vancouver on Monday.
Beneath that fluffy coat, which surely could make Scout look all of eight-pounds, this mighty pup has nerves of steel. His mom, Kayla Kleine, says he’s “super cuddly and affectionate, but he’s really feisty and really protective.”
No doubt, Scout proved his bravery and loyalty. On August 4, the family’s back door had been open to relieve the heat. The family’s surveillance camera caught the action, and boy was it exciting. A black bear wandered into the house, wandered into the kitchen area and settled in to eat Scout’s breakfast.
What! Scout was angry. Suddenly he came running out of another room, barking at the bear and chased it away! Kayla ran after Scout and yelled to him to come to her, but the insistent little canine chased the bear out of the house, down the steps in the garden and until it disappeared back into the woods.
Kayla did grab some bear spray, as she gasped when the bear entered their home, but by the time she would have needed to use it, Scout had already barked and chased it away.
Two things came out of this scary incident. The first is how brave this little dog was and how protective he is concerning his family, and the second – keep your doors closed even if it’s hot outside.
Perhaps Scout was angry the bear thought he could eat the pup’s breakfast too?

This video proves that noisy Pomeranians and their owners are terrifying to very quiet, peaceful, polite, docile, safe, large, black bears, who are curiously sniffing around. If you ever encounter a tiny Pomeranian, you should run away with a Black Bear and climb a tree with a black bear to escape the tiny, dangerous, unpredictable Pomeranian, who has very sharp canines that can puncture and tear skin or chew away your nose or ear lobes. Then, give the safe, docile, black bear, who is suffering a panic attack from the Pomeranian’s noisy chase, a door mat to sooth his nerves and warm the floor of his winter den. He’ll thank you with kindness. Watch the video of the black bear who opens and closes a door in NJ.
