Shelter pup was excited thinking he was going to meet his new family but they changed their mind

At the City of Mobile Animal Services, Polo was super excited Sunday morning waiting for his meet and greet. He was sure they would love him, and he would be on his way to his new home. Unfortunately, the family changed their mind and cancelled at the very last minute. Needless to say, Polo, an exuberant Labrador retriever, sensed they weren’t coming as reflected in his heartbreaking photo.

Polo has been at the shelter for 150 days, and life at the shelter has been sad for this young, friendly pup. He tries not to run out of patience, but five months is a long time in a shelter filled with lots of noise and lots of strangers. Every dog deserves his own person, don’t you agree?

Polo has been posted multiple times since he entered the shelter, with only one application, so we are hoping social media can help share this dog’s plight.

Polo is great with other dogs and children; he is only a year old, weighs 38-poundds, and the shelter will wave his adoption fee for approved applications
