Perlita is a tiny dog (A2194173) at the South L.A. Animal Shelter located in Los Angeles. She remains on stray hold until May 11, 2025, but shelter volunteers never get used to the sadness of these scared, innocent faces as they try to figure out how and why they are at such a noisy place with so many strangers.
Sadly, Perlita is no different, and as the volunteer walks through, we can see the tears in the puppy’s eyes recorded on the following short TikTok clip posted by Kels McDonough @kelsmcdonough.
“She now has two other little kennelmates.”
Perlita’s emotional video clip has garnered more than 95,000 views and nearly 1,200 comments. Whether her owner will return for her is highly unlikely, but hopefully enough viewers will see her photo and her video and want to adopt her when her mandatory waiting period is complete.
