At the Dogtoli Dog Rescue located in Coral Springs, Florida, an 11-year-old German shepherd blend named Buddy needs to be front and center on social media news so he can find the perfect home. After all, Buddy doesn’t want to get old before he finds his new family.

Buddy has been living in a boarding situation for two years. He does have another dog pal where he lives, and they get along fine, but Buddy needs his own family.
Read along with me and allow me to describe this incredible pooch and his sad story.

Buddy was originally an emotional support dog for a six-year-old autistic child. The family adopted Buddy as a puppy, and he and the little boy were together 24/7. When the family decided to move back to their country, they didn’t take Buddy with them; at which time the dog was sent to Dogtoli Dog Rescue.

Buddy was soon adopted, but sadly that person experienced a heart attack in August 2017 and Buddy was returned.
Buddy then lived another six years of his life with a woman he adored, but in 2023, the lady went to hospice and died shortly after. Buddy was again heartbroken.
And here we are again; Buddy is great with children (not just good – he adores them according to the rescue), potty trained, crate trained, gentle, sensitive, sweet and extremely loyal. He loves learning and is very smart.

Great on leash. Not good with other dogs… good with cats and poultry, still learning to interact properly with dogs but is interacting freely with another dog since 7 months with no incident.
Knows basic commands and knows tricks Neutered, up to date on vaccines
since September 9th 2023 to currently Buddy is fostered in polk county (central FL) in Lake Wales
