Senior cocker spaniel left tethered to traffic cone with screwdriver gets second chance

Spread the love

On the side of a busy road in Los Angeles, where pedestrians commonly pass through every day, whether going for a run, rushing to work or on the way to school, someone had tied an older cocker spaniel to a traffic cone and secured the rope to a screwdriver hammered into the ground just a few feet away.

Why no one saw what happened or chose to ignore the obvious animal neglect and cruelty will likely never be known.

An older soul who should have been resting his days in comfort and love, not suffering in pain and abandonment.

No one knows who tethered the dog nor why, but a few Good Samaritans had left him food and water; likely they had been hoping his owners would come forward and take him home. Maybe he ran away, and maybe someone hoped his family would have been frantically searching for their dog?

Suzette Hall, an independent rescuer from the area was called to help. When she arrived, she knew the dog was in pain and rushed him to Camino Pet Hospital. He has been named Landon.

He is battling pancreatitis which is a very painful condition; he has been placed on on IV fluids and pain medication. On top of that, he suffers from a severe ear infection and an ulcer on his eye that will need to be removed.

The pain he endured out there in that park for two long days alone is truly heartbreaking.

When Suzette rescues these dogs, she never has a full medical report in front of her. She just says yes, because that is what Logan’s rescuers do.

I don’t say no because of money. I say yes because no dog deserves to suffer like Landon did.

Donations are needed for sweet Landon. He deserves relief from this pain, and he deserves to know what love feels like in the time he has left.

Donations are desperately needed to cover his medical care. Please, if you can find it in your heart to give, every single dollar matters for Landon.
