Blackie’s situation is urgent. Can you help?

ID: #A5402105. Blackie had been in the shelter four years ago and was then returned to his owner. Just days ago, he was surrendered back to the same shelter for being “ill.”

In 2021, a gate blew open (now locked), and Blackie went for a walk. At the time, the 10-year-old dog was sent to the Carson Shelter. His owner, a disabled senior, was able to borrow the money to help bail her dog out.
And now he’s back and surely has no clue why. Please share his plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Senior dogs hold a special part of our hearts, and Blackie needs our help.

Meet Blackie:
The volunteer who met Blackie commented:
“I think I was meant to meet Blackie last weekend. I was in the yard with another dog and a volunteer left him in the yard next to me so he could stretch his legs for a bit. I had never seen him before and had no idea we had a 15 year old dog at our shelter!!! I went over to say hi and my heart broke into a million pieces. He’s so sweet, but so frail. Naturally I dressed him up so he would feel and look like a million bucks; he was definitely put in my path so our Instagram community could do its thing and get him into a foster or forever home!!”
Blackie’s health status is unknown at this time although he has been scheduled to have a veterinarian examination.

This little guy looks more like a bear than a dog.
