Rural shelter thought no one would save him until heroes stepped forward in pouring rainstorm

A small, extremely high kill shelter known for euthanizing dozens of dogs every day because of overcrowding, lack of funding and lack of adopters, didn’t expect anyone would rescue Kramer.

Fortunately, for the emaciated and terribly neglected Boxer, the shelter was wrong. On Sunday, Adopt A Boxer Rescue located in Olyphant, Pennsylvania stepped in to help.

When boxers are in need, AABR volunteers respond. Our mission includes hands-on rescue, as well as education. We strive to inform others about the realities of pet ownership, promote neutering, and encourage responsible care. It is our hope that our efforts will enhance the lives of people as well as companion animals.

And in the middle of a torrential downpour, two heroes went to rescue the very tired, and the very weak Boxer in dire need. Was he once a cherished member of a family? Did he get lost or did someone just decide they no longer wanted to take care of him?

And there he was on Sunday; he had been in a sweltering shelter just moments away from being euthanized for space.

His history is unknown, however he is heartworm positive, has not been neutered, has skin masses, and his list of health issues are likely to get longer.

Now to rewrite Kramer’s future:

Please help us in welcoming Kramer to the loving arms of our rescue. He didn’t arrive to the shelter with a name so we gave him one from our Give a Dog a Name program.

Please give if you can. We can’t do this without your help. More are coming soon that will need us.
