An on duty officer with the Highway Patrol in Canton, Ohio was the hero for a lost dog running dangerously close to traffice along the side of Interstate 77 on May 14. What else could it be called other than a “PAW-sitively adorable rescue”?

Last week, Sgt. Brett Claxon, Canton Post, rescued the dog on I-77. The sergeant stood by his cruiser and calmly called to the dog.

Hey Buddy! Want treats?

We’re guessing the pooch knew the word “treats” and walked towards the sergeant sniffing him as he got closer. It appears they became instant friends when the brown and white friendly pup is seen happily wagging his tail.

As the sergeant guided the pooch over to his vehicle and tried to get him into the back seat, the pup had other ideas and jumped right into the driver’s seat!
