Just this week Austin Pets Alive! rescued a one-month-old puppy who had been thrown from a truck. Fortunately, a witness saw the heartbreaking incident and immediately stepped forward after the person in the vehicle failed this innocent little life.

The witness contacted animal services who transferred the puppy to an emergency animal clinic to receive life saving care overnight. The puppy had suffered a serious head injury after being tossed out of the vehicle and was reported to be experiencing seizure activity due to the head trauma.

The puppy, named Tommy was transferred to Austin Animal Center in the morning because of his medical needs before being taken into the care of Austin Pets Alive!
What an amazing will to live Tommy has. The veterinarian staff have already fallen for the adorable cream and white puppy who has lots of love to share from one so tiny and so young.
Today, we’re seeing that despite experiencing such a traumatic experience, Tommy still has a fervor for eating — he licks his bowl clean every time, and has some of that puppy playfulness in him!
The medical team has tied some bells to his collar to help monitor for seizures. They are also providing anti-seizure and pain management medication, along with the typical intake needs for a puppy.

Can’t donate, but want to help? Tommy will be ready to go to a foster tomorrow as long as no seizures are noted today or overnight! Email [email protected]!
