Nine tiny puppies, less than five weeks old, were abandoned last week in a tub and left on a street alone in the Mountview Drive area of Davie County. A Good Samaritan found the puppies and brought them to the Davie County Animal Shelter in North Carolina for immediate care.

How frightening it must have been for the puppies; left out in the cold and surviving the night with the sounds of coyotes in the background? How frightening it must have been for the puppies to have been without their mother.

When the puppies arrived at the shelter, they were filthy. These puppies had been fortunate a kind person who found the sealed tub had the wherewithal to open the lid and look inside. Despite their awful first experiences in life, they are all healthy, have been vaccinated and will soon to made eligible for adoption.

Check them out. They are all named after potatoes: (The puppies are just off the chart in cuteness)
The puppies have been getting ready in foster homes through the generosity of kindness of Humane Society of Davie County in Florida.
There are four boys and five girls, all of whom have been checked by the vet and are now being nurtured in foster homes. We’ll be sharing more details on their unique personalities soon. For now, we can tell you they are all healthy, sweet, and embody pure puppy love!
They’re five weeks old now and almost ready for their forever home! If you’re interested in adopting one when they turn eight weeks old, please visit hsdavie.org/dogs and complete an adoption application. The adoption team will process your application and get everything set for them to join your family in just a few weeks.
