Misha’s story is just heartbreaking. Since she was adopted as a puppy by a long distance truck driver, the two would settle into the front cab and travel the highways together. The two went everywhere together for nearly nine years. For a dog that is certainly a lifetime full of loyalty, adventures and love.
Sadly, on July 1, 2025, a welfare officer had been dispatched to the parking lot of a local Walmart parking lot in Houston, Texas. Misha’s beloved human had passed away in his truck. Misha had been cuddled up at his side.
Misha is a nine-year-old senior German shepherd who desperately needs a foster home or an adopter from the Harris County Pets Shelter immediately. Because of the overcrowded conditions at the shelter, her future could be in jeopardy; she can be euthanized anytime after July 16.

Misha is a 9 year old senior shepherd who needs a foster or adopter from Harris County Pets Shelter in Houston Texas very soon, she can be euthanized at anytime after 7/16
No one from the truck driver’s family has offered to help. She does have a microchip, and it is hoped someone comes to the shelter to give her a home and save her life.
MISHA must be clueless, sad losing the only person and human she ever loved, now in a crowded shelter, so please SHARE FOR HER! This is a sad event many pets endure, the loss of their humans who cared for them are not longer there.
