The City of Hernando Animal Services is overcrowded and reported it is currently over capacity. According to a recent Facebook post, they “are completely full” and every kennel is occupied.
There is an immediate need for adoptions and/or fostering to relieve the situation. It is truly heartbreaking the decisions that will have to be made if there is no room for animals in need arriving at the shelter.
Area residents and approved rescue organizations are being encouraged to reach out to provide a home to a cat or dog. For short time solutions, fostering would certainly help any of of these very amazing pets.
