At I Heart Dogs Rescue and Animal Haven located in Warren, Michigan, it was a big day this week for eight-years-old Udon who had spent more than four years – or half his life in the shelter. Congratulations boy; Udon has been adopted.

Known as the king of zoomies, the kiddie pool connoisseur and everyone’s favorite car passenger has found his person. For years, Udon watched the other dogs leave with their new families and wondered why no one came for him, but he never lost hope.

He just needed to be the only dog in the house.

And then it happened! Maybe it was deemed by Udon to have been a doggy miracle, but he’s now home and sleeping soundly in his own bed.

Udon has had so many people cheering him on over the years, thousands of shares, comments, and words of encouragement, but there’s one person who has always been there, day after day, year after year; his best friend, his constant, his biggest advocate – Kris. She never gave up on him. She made sure he always knew he was loved, and she is the reason he is sleeping in a home tonight.
To everyone who shared, liked, commented and hoped – thank you.
And of course, A HUGE THANK YOU to Udon’s new dad! We can’t wait for pupdates!
Udon will be missed so very much but we couldn’t possibly be happier for him!
Run fast, love big, and soak up all the sun, Udon. You’ve earned every bit of this happy ending.
Udon would like to send everyone a message even though dogs needing adoption at shelters don’t read, but we know the volunteers do – Please don’t give up!
